Wetland Treasures

The class has been on a virtual journey from the mouth of the Rangitata up to a rare inland high country ecosystem- O Tu Wharekai, a wetland area that includes 12 lakes that make up the Ashburton Lakes. The wetland is a habitat for native fish, trout, salmon, waterbirds, threatened native plants and aquatic and terrestrial invertebrates.
The students worked in pairs to select one of the 'Wetland Treasures' to study using a range of 'Thinking tools'. They presented their findings to the class in a variety of ways. Your child can login into the LEARNZ website and share with you more of their 'learning' journey. Please find below two examples from Kahn and Larkin/ Lexi and Phoebe.
